Gangatha
Luthando Gangatha is a young, vibrant Mathematics teacher who trained at the University of KwaZulu Natal (Edgewood campus). While here he was given the opportunity to tutor Mathematics and to demonstrate Physical Science. In 2015 he became the principal of Edgewood Extra Tuition Programme (EETP).
Luthando has 3 years’ teaching experience in High School Mathematics and has shown himself to be both a capable teacher and a person of vision. In 2018 Luthando attended VuMA where he was introduced to the use of technology in Mathematics teaching. This was a turn-around for Luthando in the way he teaches Mathematics. Using the strategies and skills in technology that he learnt under the tuition of Sue Southwood at VuMA, has helped Luthando to keep the learners motivated in the classroom and to improve their Mathematics results,
The input at VuMA and the encouragement he receives from the VuMA family has given Luthando the confidence to teach himself new skills and to grow his capacity as a Mathematics teacher. He confidently states; “Mathematics is power!”
